Victimise - we come from alpha to steal your women and rape your cattle

If you're a regular visitor to the Premier League forums then you probably already know what happened to us yesterday. This was the last regular season game for us, but with one game to be played in the make-up round we could of still qualified for the playoffs if we won out then won all three seeding rounds. our starting 4 was me (wb), Savman (wb, weasel), Leaky (wb) and Kyre (wb) who was playing his first game for Vic. our only sub was bongman (weasel). Balls starters were Thrull (wb), Bortas (wb), WORDS (wb) and Freaky Flow (wb, weasel). I'll get into their subs later.

We had a disastrous start. I was talking to Leaky on chat and I didn't notice that the game had started. I attached right in the middle of the action and was killed by WORDS after only twenty seconds. Then I spawned right where I died and nearly got killed again. Balls went 2-0 up after five minutes when Freaky Flow killed Leaky. At that point things weren't looking good.

But we got back into it with three straight kills, two on Thrull by me and Kyre and one on WORDS by Savman. Balls tied it up at 3-3 with a kill on Savman by Freaky Flow but I killed Bortas to even it up again.

With 15 minutes gone we had two Balls slots on one life, but that advantage didn't last long. Balls got two kills by WORDS on Savman and Leaky to put them on one life each and even it up. The first team to get an elimination looked favourites to take the win.

That team was us when leaky knocked out Bortas. But Balls made the game 3v3 a minute later when Thrull knocked out Savman. Then came the subs.

Demerol subbed in for Thrull when he had 0 reps, then bong replaced Leaky when he hit 0 reps. Remember Balls can only play one of their IML players in an AML game. But even with demerol in the game we still looked good, specially when Kyre killed Freaky Flow to give us an 8-7 lead and put another Balls slot on one life..

Balls then subbed out WORDS for Kepi. I of course complained to the match ref that Balls now had two IML starters in their line-up. It turns out that Kepi wasn't considered an IML player so they had done nothing wrong. This goes against everything that we were promised when BALLISTICS were given a spot in AML. They were only a shadow squad who weren't going to make the playoffs, would only play their bench and in the end they would be a non-factor. Instead of which, due to their personal dislike of me (and I believe 100% this is the reason) when it looked like we might beat them they subbed in two IML starters to win the game.

Which is exactly what happened. From the point Kepi subbed in we only got one more kill and lost the game 12-9. Demerol was the MVP going 3-0 with 1 assist and 2 forced reps. Our best player was Kyre who went 5-3 with 5 forced reps. This loss effectively puts us out of playoff contention. We could actually still make it if we win out last four games and other results go in out favour, but it's unlikely that will happen.

Our next game, the final match before the seeding rounds start, is against Blasphemy. I'll post here when I have a confirmed time. Finally, all the links from the match:

We Lost

BALLISTICS beat us 12-9 this evening to finally knock us out of the playoff race. There's a lot more than this and I'll get into it when I write the match report tomorrow.

WZL Playoffs Round 3 Round-up

With all the appeals and replays the playoffs in WZL might last longer that the regular season. Also with the games now out of sync only one game per round is being played. Just to remind you that two spots in the final are already gone with Opulence and Gust taking them.

Last Sunday ReDS won what was supposed to be the first game of the playoffs, the wildcard match, as the four lowest seeded teams (ReDS, DAMN_Yankees, 7rom and Fuk U) played each other. ReDS now go forward to the round 4 game where they will play Elder Clan and BLaCK STaR. That will be held a week Sunday.

The winner of that game will move on to the final elimination match in round 5 where they will play NightBane and DOMINATION (my squad). The winner of that game gets the last spot in the finals.

Get all that? Good.

We are the Champions, We are the Champions

No time for loooosers cos we are the champions of the WORRRRRRRRRLD!!!11ONE

LLTF became the CashBall season 3 champions on Sunday beating asteroiders in two games and I rode on the coattails to nab my first Subspace title.

We dominated in game 1. Both teams had possession and moved the ball well, but our defense around our goal was strong, while we seemed to be able to score on asteroiders at will. We held the lead throughout match, finally taking it 10-4. Just to show you how lopsided it was I played the last five minutes. I think the reason that we got such a big win was that half of asteroiders roster only showed up two minutes before the match as they were involved in the darkslayers vs Tyranny match being played in Pro.

I think that was bared out with how game 2 went. Asteroiders were much more competitive and lead through most of it. They were much better offensively and in the last few minutes lead 5-2 and looked good to tie the finals up. But then we got on a run. Desperado scored, we got the ball at the spawn, then Benji scored to make it 5-4. We got the ball at the spawn again and moved the ball to their goal and desperado scored in the last 10 seconds to tie it at 5-5.

The run continued as we got the ball again on the spawn. The game went into overtime with us on offense and we never lost possession again. We moved the ball well and had several open shots and slide opportunities, but the asteroiders D held.

The winning goal eventually came from Corrupt Cop. Asteroiders had strong D outside the goal, but we had killed their goalies. CC saw this and took an outrageous shot that bounced around inside the goal before going in. Here's all the links from the games. More Stats

I've expanded the results/stats section. If you click the link on the menu you'll see a lot more options now. I've included team records and I've started to add player profiles that give a season-by-season stats run down for every past and present Vic member, which means I have over 70 to get up.

The plan is to have it all finished by the time AML Season 12 starts.

Stats Update

I was just looking at Starseed's website and I noticed that they have a log of our AML Season 7 make-up round match. I lost the log for this and as it was never added to ScoreMaster it was missing from the player stats database.

So I've added it to the Log Bank. You can read it by clicking here, it includes the SS team freq chat and is pretty funny.Remember this was the game where SS owned us, then started to TK each other at the end. I've also parsed it for the match stats which you can get here.

I also updated the player stats databse. The game won't show up on the career stats until I update it after the end of this season, but you can see the updated season 7 player stats by going here.

Move Complete

I've just finished moving the final set of pages from eBloggy to here. If you click the menu links to the left you'll find they all now point to posts on here. I've also changed all the links on the squad forums, the Yahoo Group and the playing guides hosted on Geocities so that they direct you to this site.

I'm pretty sure that I've switched everything, but if you find a dead link, or a link that sends you to the eBloggy site rather than here then please let me know.

AML Round 12, Victimise 12-2 7rominence

We got our biggest win of the season on Sunday taking out 7rom 12-2 (yes we beat SF 12-0, but they only showed three, this was against a full squad). Our starters were me (wb), amps (wb), leaky (wb) and bong (wb) while expo (wb) subbed in. 7rom went with Pers (wb, weasel), Dissertation (Lev), an innocent decoy (wb) and Omegared (weasel) with silly_n00b (wb) as their only sub.

We got off to a great start when amps killed Omegared after only 34 seconds. Two minutes later it was 2-0 us and 0-2 for Omegared when bong killed him. After that the key was knocking Omegared out to force the 4v3 advantage, which we got after six minutes when Leaky forced a teamkill. Although he also died too it was well worth it as we were 3-1 up and 7rom were a slot down.

After that it was a simple matter of pushing them back, burning their specials and knocking them out one by one. Pers was next to get eliminated, then innocent decoy, then silly_noob while we only suffered one death. The MVP was amps, who went 3-0 with 4 forced reps. Runner up was Leaky who went 2-1 with 1 KO, 5 assists and 2 forced reps. Not taken into account in the stats is the fact that Leaky forced two teamkills.

It was a good team performance with everyone who played getting at least one kill. Despite practice tailing off after two weeks of virtual inactivity (the no-show win over THZ followed by the bye week) we still came out and played well as a team, staying together well, backing each other up and forcing the pace. This win keeps us in touch with the playoff spots with the seeding rounds on the horizon.

Next game is against BALLISTICS. I've already scheduled the game and we'll be playing this Sunday at 7pm EST (12am GMT). Finally, all the links from the game.

New Recruit

Over the weekend Arbatross joined the squad. He's a squaddie of mine in WZL and he will play AML for us next season. After starting the season with a really good looking roster we've had depth problems all season and I will be recruiting heavily for season 12 of AML. So expect some new faces in Vic next season, and maybe some old ones too......

I haven't put up a match report yet as our game stats haven't been uploaded to MasterRater. As soon as they are I'll post the report.

We Won, then I Won

Victimise beat 7rominence 12-2 earlier today. We dominated them from the start for an easy win, with amps picking up the MVP. I'll write a full match report sometime tomorrow.

Then after the Vic match I went on to the CashBall finals, which my team LLTF won 2-0 for my first ss finals win $ Expect a full match report of my gloating (even though I played a total of 7 minutes in the two games) later in the week.

New Comments Format

I've decided not to use the default blogger comments and have installed haloscan. This means that the comments come up in a pop-up window similar to how eBloggy handles them.

I personally prefer this format to the full page comments on blogger and considering we don't get that many comments anyway it's a much better system for us.

I've also started moving the old eBloggy posts over, with only the November posts and the menu pages left to do. Should all be done by tomorrow.

Template Finished

I think that this is as close as I can get to the eBloggy template on here. I think the only things that are different are the scroll bar and the 'posted by' text in italics (that sounds simple to fix, but fuck me if I can). Those are minor enough to ignore though.

eBloggy is now back up so the menu links are working again. I've started moving the posts from there over here, so for a while things might be confusing with some links directing you to posts here, some links directing you to posts on eBloggy and some of the older stuff bringing up pages from Geocites. By the end of next week everything will be on here.

This is the main reason I've decided to move Vic's stuff over here. Blogger allows you to edit the date of your posts. So I can bring all of the posts from all the old Vic sites and archive them here in one place.

I've just added the news posts from Shad's site. Over the next few days I'll add the posts from the old geocities site, the DoubleZero site and from eBloggy when it comes back. Right now in the archives section you'll see two sets of links. The links with the month name in full are the new archives on blogger and the other links are the old archives hosted on geocites.

Do Not Adjust your Set

I'm in the process of moving the eBloggy template over here, so if this seem a little weird right now it will all be fixed.

The basic template is done, right now I'm playing with the fonts and text size. Also, all the links in the menu are still set for the old eBloggy pages so they won't work.

Moving Again... maybe

Right now eBloggy is down, so just in case the Vic blog is gone I've set up a new blog here.

I've been thinking about switching over here anyway for a couple of reasons. First of all I can allow multiple posters rather than just me. Also there's a lot more stuff I can do in the background.

We'll see how it goes, but right now I'm 99% sure that this is going to be Vic's new home.

CashBall 3 Championship Times Confirmed

Season 3 of CashBall will finish this Sunday with the championship series, with all three games being played. #2 seeds LLTF (my squad) will face off against surprise finalists Asterioders (who feature curved squadmember HoS), who upset #1 seeds Go Di? after coming through the wildcard match. Here's the game times:

WZL Playoffs Round 2 Round-Up

After the mess of the first round of the playoffs last week things look a little clearer now. DOMINATION (my squad), NightBane and Gust played each other for the second spot in the finals series. Gust won the game in OT and join Opulence in the finals.

Next week there's only one game, the reply of Fuk U vs ReDS vs DAMN_Yankees vs 7rominence. The winner of that game will move onto Round 4 and play Dom and Elder Clan for the last spot in the finals. The game will be played at 2pm EST in ?go league in SSCX Warzone/ASWZ CTF.

We Won

Well I say we, what I mean is I won.....

Well, since I didn't actually play what I really mean to say is they won.

What I'm talking about is last night's CashBall semi finals. In the first semi wildcard winner Asterioders upset #1 seeds Got Di?, then in the second semi LLTF (my squad) beat Quicksilver 6-5 in OT. I managed to get a screenshot of Cheap Liquor scoring the winning goal which you can see here. Here's all the results and stats from yesterday:

AML Playoffs Announced

The format of the seeding rounds and playoffs have been officially announced, you can read about it here.

It's pretty much what I expected, except for the double elimination format to the playoffs rather than giving the top six seeds a round 1 bye.

So as long as we at least finish the regular season in the top thirteen we will have a chance at making the playoffs. We could still qualify from a lower position however if the tiebreakers fall in our favour.

WZL Appeal Overturned

After the feedback Wonderer has gotten he has decided to change his mind and turn down the appeal from the Dom/Op/Gust game. Also the OT rule has been changed yet again, this time to something much simpler. From now on if no team gets a flag win inside 90 minutes the first team to touch all 8 flags wins, they don't have to hold them for 90 seconds as usual. I agree with this new rule.

So Opulence are the first team to make the final. Nightbane, Dom and Gust will play next Sunday with the winner of that match getting the second finals spot. The other round 1 match that was postponed will also be played next Sunday at 2est.

Memories, like the Corners of my Mind

If you check down the lists of links you'll see I've added a new section, old Vic sites. These are all the old Vic and Vic-related webistes I could find. Starting with Shadowseeker's original Victimise website, my Vic and DZ sites on Geocities and the Yahoo Groups for HATE SQUAD and Fat Fuck (remember them?).

I think apart from the forums the only thing that is misssing is the victimise.sscentral.net site. This wasn't up for very long and I couldn't find it on archive.org. If I've forgotten anything let me know. The only thing I can think of is the website that MrPibb was going to design for us that never got further than the front page.

CashBall Playoffs start this Sunday

Yes I'm pimping another league that Victimise doesn't play, but I do. CashBall is a Powerball league. It works by each player being ranked with a salary based on their skill and each squad having a salary cap which is supposed to stop stacked squads dominating and allowing new players to get spots on rosters as they have low salaries. I play for LLTF and of course I'm a minimum wage scrub.

The regular season finished last week and the top five squads qualified for the playoffs which will be played out this Sunday, with the wildcard match followed by the semi-finals. Here's how the schedule looks:

Wildcard: Kataklizm (4) vs Asteroiders (5) @ 8pm EST

Semi Final 1: Got Di? (1) vs Wildcard winner @ 9pm EST

Semi Final 2: Quicksilver (3) vs LLTF (2) @ 10pm EST

Good luck expecting me to stay sober for a match that starts 3am my time, not that I would play anyway (minimum wage scrub remember). All games will be played in ?go league in SSCX Powerball. WZL Appeal Decided

This has just been posted on the frontpage of the WZ website by zone sysop Wonderer about what happened on Sunday:

As you all know the 1st playoff match did not go well. There was a discrepancy in the rules that caused the match to become chaotic and turn into a iron man match. This was a direct result of a rule not being updated when it should have been, which is my responsibility.

I have decided to do a full replay of the match. In addition the rule in question is being changed. Because of how this change will affect OT in the playoffs and finals, all 3 teams will be in the replay. I have updated the schedule to show that Match 1 and 2 will be played this weekend.

Match 1: Gust vs. Opulence vs. DOMINATION 02:00 EST (Winner: Championship)
Match 2: DAMN_Yankees vs. ReDS vs. Fuk U 04:00 EST

The new rule is as follows concerning OT.

4.10 If there is no flag winner within regulation time in a playoff or finals match OT will be handled as follows:

a) Bursts will be granted to the arena at 90 and 105 minutes.

b) Freq size will be reduced to 8 at 100 minutes and 6 at 110 minutes. The pilots to be specced must be pre-determined 5 minutes before by the captain of each team. It'll be up to the pilot to spec on time or be specced without warning, if the team don't indicate who should be specced, then the ref will spec whomever they want. If it appears the match will be going in OT it will be the referee's responsibility to ask each team who should be specced each time.

c) If there is still no flag winner after 120 minutes the match will be replayed will all 3 teams.

I again apologize for the inconvenience to everyone.

So our appeal was based on the fact that the ref was running OT using last seasons rules and not over the confusion after the wrong team was specced at the end of regulation. Good news for me as I'll be on broadband this weekend and will be able to play. Last Sunday I was at my parents using their dial-up connection and managed to play two whole minutes before getting specced.

WZL Playoffs Round 1 Results

There was a lot of problems last Sunday in the first round of the WZL playoffs. The first match was between the three top seeds with the winner going straight into the finals. As expected the match was very tight. All three teams attacked and held flags, but after 90 minutes there was no flag win. DOMINATION (my squad) and Opulence both held flags while Gust held none. That means Gust are eliminated and the other two squads play overtime until one squad wins.

But there was two problems. First of all the ref specced Opulence instead of Gust by mistake and while that was been sorted out the bots went offline. I had to leave the match this point, but Opu eventually won the match to grab the first finals spot. Dom are now appealing the result. As I wasn't there I can't really comment much on it, or if we deserve a rematch, but I'll let you know how it goes.

With no bots the second playoff game (7rom vs Fuk U vs ReDS vs DAMN_Yankees) was postponed. As things stand right now next weeks playoffs games will be:

NightBane vs DOMINATION vs Gust
(Winner goes to the final)

BLaCK STaR vs Elder Clan vs The winner of the postponed game
(Winner plays the two losers from the other game next week for the last finals spot)

All games will be played in ?go league and ?go league1 in SSCX Warzone/ASWZ CTF. The schedule depends on the result of the appeal. If the staff want to play all three games this Sunday then I'd expect the postponed game and the NB/Dom/Gust game to be played at 2pm EST, with the BS/EC game at 4pm EST. If the postponed game runs too long though then that may have to be pushed back to next Sunday. If the appeal is granted then round 1 will have to effectively be replayed and the full playoff schedule pushed back a week.

Things might seem a bit messy right now, but they should become a bit clearer through the week.

I've just added some more goodies to the squad downloads section. I've added some more graphics, the alternative victory music that I use as well as the latest version of Continuum and I'm about to upload a shipset customiser and some of the shipsets I've made up for different zones.

We Won

Next week is our bye so we don't play again for two weeks when we take on 7rominence, a team we beat in the pre-season. So the site is probably going to be a little quiet for a while.

I've tidied up the links down the right hand side as well as adding a few more. Let me know if you find any dead links, but I think they all work.

Also, the schedule page is no longer private so if you click the link on the menu you can read it. I'm still not happy with the format, so I might take a crack at it again another time. Apart from that the new design is finished. Hope you like it as I'm not changing it for a long long time....

WZL Playoffs Kick off this Sunday

Season 12 of Warzone league heads into the playoffs this Sunday. The big game is at 2pm EST when the top three seeded teams Gust, DOMINATION (who I play for) and Opulence face off. The winning squad heads straight into the finals, although the two losing teams will have two more chances to get a spot in the three team final series. The other four qualifying sqauads (ReDS, 7rominence, Fuk U and DAMN_Yankees) play each other at 4pm EST.

The playoff system is quite complicated. Basically the higher seed the squad is the more chances they get to make the finals. The top three teams get to play three playoff games before they're eliminated, while the lowest ranked teams only get one. For more info check out the Warzone CTF website.

I've added a new option on the menu so rather than hunting through MasterRater you can now see our full season schedule from the AML Cups games in the Summer through to the season 11 finals, assuming we make them, on a single page.

AML Round 10 Time Confirmed

Our game against THZ will be played at 5pm EST (10pm GMT) on Sunday. We got our time as THZ didn't offer any times within 48 hours. My first choice of 6est was full by then, but 5est was in the window of times I offered. I'm just getting all this nicey nicey scheduling out of my system ready for the Ballistics game (more of that in three weeks time).

New Template

I thought it was time I made my own template for the VicBlog (catchy title don't you think?) so I did. I kept the old colour scheme and I think the blog looks a lot less cluttered than the old template, which I'm still using for the Premier League blog.

AML Round 9, Victimise 1-12 StarFire Elite

The problems in this game were in the 30 minutes before match time. Only myself (wb), amps (wb) and Leaky (wb) were around to prac and warm-up. When the game was called we were still the only three online. I got a 10 minute delay and bongman, Shadowseeeker and HarryHood showed up. Shad (wb) was the fourth starter. SFE started Mauler (wb), Divine (weasel), MfA (spider) and Banner (wb) with Something Dutch (wb) subbing in.

We were totally disorganised and never got into the game. SFE played their usual tight game and we could never get together and hit back at them. They knocked us out one by one very easily. Mauler was the MVP, going 3-0 for a MR Rating of +105. Normally I try and pull out a few positives from our losses, but in all honesty I can't think of a single good thing that we did as a team on Sunday.

This loss now puts us four games off the last playoff spot with seven games left to play. We're not out of playoff contention yet, but we can't afford to lose any more games. Next Sunday we're playing TEAM HOCKEY ZONE. I'll post here when I have a time confirmed. Here's all the links from the game.

We Lost

SFE beat us 12-1. We only showed three at gametime and just managed to get four after a delay. Not surprisingly we had no teamwork through the match and got turned over. I'll write a match report later this evening or tomorrow.
