There was a lot of problems last Sunday in the first round of the WZL playoffs. The first match was between the three top seeds with the winner going straight into the finals. As expected the match was very tight. All three teams attacked and held flags, but after 90 minutes there was no flag win. DOMINATION (my squad) and Opulence both held flags while Gust held none. That means Gust are eliminated and the other two squads play overtime until one squad wins.
But there was two problems. First of all the ref specced Opulence instead of Gust by mistake and while that was been sorted out the bots went offline. I had to leave the match this point, but Opu eventually won the match to grab the first finals spot. Dom are now appealing the result. As I wasn't there I can't really comment much on it, or if we deserve a rematch, but I'll let you know how it goes.
With no bots the second playoff game (7rom vs Fuk U vs ReDS vs DAMN_Yankees) was postponed. As things stand right now next weeks playoffs games will be:
NightBane vs DOMINATION vs Gust (Winner goes to the final)
BLaCK STaR vs Elder Clan vs The winner of the postponed game (Winner plays the two losers from the other game next week for the last finals spot)
All games will be played in ?go league and ?go league1 in SSCX Warzone/ASWZ CTF. The schedule depends on the result of the appeal. If the staff want to play all three games this Sunday then I'd expect the postponed game and the NB/Dom/Gust game to be played at 2pm EST, with the BS/EC game at 4pm EST. If the postponed game runs too long though then that may have to be pushed back to next Sunday. If the appeal is granted then round 1 will have to effectively be replayed and the full playoff schedule pushed back a week.
Things might seem a bit messy right now, but they should become a bit clearer through the week.
