Our starters were Nick Rivers (Weasel), stool (bird), Lex (bird) and Asinine (Weasel) while LI went with the only four they showed: SabreTooth, Pension, Silly_n00b and Proxy (all birds). Neither team used any subs. We had the worst start to any game in the squad's history when Nick was killed after 10 seconds then stool was killed after 50. Not even a minute into the game and we were 2-0 down. Both deaths were due to slow reps. After LI got that lead we pulled it back and looked like pulling away but again died too easily. I think after all the bad luck we've had this season and the start we had to this game we were playing a little too reserved. The scores were tied at 2-2, 3-3, 4-4 and 6-6, although after it got to 3-3 LI never led again.
It was at this point we really took over the match. The next three kills saw us finally split the game open and knock out two of LI's slots. Once it was 4v2 it was a case of cleaning up without making any mistakes, which is exactly what we did to take it 12-6. Nick got the MVP, going 6-1 with 3 KO's, 1 assist and 7 forced reps. Runner up was stool who went 4-2 with 1 KO, 2 assists and 6 forced reps. After the nervous start where I think we were all expecting something to go wrong again, we really settled down into the game and for the first time we showed what kind of team we can be this season.
Personally it was nice to get a 2 weasel/2 warbird line out there. This has always been my favourite ship line up and it's what we've always used in Vic's most successful season's (AML 6 semi final and AML 8 quarter final appearances). Next up for us is Wretcheds. I've started scheduling and will post when I have a time confirmed. Finally here's all the stats and other stuff that only I'm interested in from the game:
