The first round of pre-season has been put up on MasterRater. We're going to play 7rominence. You can check out all of the round 1 match-ups here.
Season 11 of AML will start on Sunday 8th August with three pre-season rounds. No news yet on the length of the regular season as the two divisions have yet to be finalised. And of course no news of how the playoffs will work until the last second as always.
In case you missed it on the shoutbox, the IML Game 3 log is up on Mad Ass News. You can read it here.
A lot of changes happening to the website in the next few days and weeks. First of all you can see that the opening page has changed. I'm in the process of changing the whole website to this new template, including the forums and the squad-only Yahoo Groups site if that's possible, I'm pretty limited in what I can change there. Also, we're finally moving off geocities. Thanks to Drug Against War over at BlackNike.net I have some space on his server to host the website and I'm in the process of getting that together now. With no real squad news for a while until next season starts I thought that this would be a good time to get this done with the minimum of fuss.
The IML title was supposed to be decided yesterday, instead it turned into a total clusterfuck. Money only had three at the start of the match and decided to start in a turret. About a minute into the game Raiden turned up to give money a fourth, but when he entered the game he was burned. While arguing against this he was killed and that's where the fun began. Raiden and Leathel both specced, but the game carried on. Some people in spec, thinking that the game had ended and was going to be restarted, started to jump in. After a warning from staff most of these people specced (and at least 4 of them were banned) and leathel rejoined. But raiden couldn't get back in as the bot considered him subbed out as two people from spec had joined Money's freq. The ref couldn't do anything about this as there's no bot command to undo a sub apparently, so the slot was converted and from that point onwards Money pretty much gave up and let Dissent knock them out.
To ease the boredom and increase the fun cfl, revue and captor on Dissent started TK'ing each other until the time ran out to give Dissent the win and the IML title, maybe. No news on how the staff are going to handle this, but I can't see any conclusion other than a full replay, but this is the Premier League staff remember so don't be surprised if Dissent get to keep the win and the title. One other thing to note: the ref of this match was Soul Preacher, and what squad is he in? Dissent. Unfortantly I forgot to log this, if I can find someone who did I'll upload it to the log bank.
The IML finals will be decided next Sunday after Dissent and Money split the first two games. Money won game 1 10-3 and looked liked they were going to take game 2 just as easily to become champs, but Dissent came back from a 4-0 deficit to tie the score and win it in OT. You can check out all the match stats and logs from both games here.
Victimise are officially back in Premier League. We were one of the first waiting list squads to get offered a spot in next season of AML, which I've confirmed. All three leagues right now are finding out which squads are staying, which are leaving and which are moving. I'm guessing that within a week or so I'll know when next season is due to start. I'll post here as soon as I find out. Don't forget that the IML final starts tomorrow at 6pm EST.
A quick round-up of squad and league news. BoP won the AML Cup on Sunday, beating Warlords 12-8 after being down 5-1 early in the game. You can see the game log here (I found out later that the person threatening to ban me at the end of the log is Purple). Premier League finishes this Sunday with the IML final. Money will play Dissent with game 1 starting at 6pm EST.
Pro league is going to make some changes for next season. The Pro Senate is back. That means all major decisions have to be approved by all squad caps and not just forced through by the league sysop, it's something I'd like to see in all three leagues. Also, next season's Pro League champions will get a $400 cash prize via pay-pal. I'm thinking of putting up a prize for AML. How does a signed photo and a packet of hula hoops sound?
Not much squad news. I've decided to pull vic out of RZJPL since I was the only squad member regularly showing it was never a real squad freq. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue playing RZJPL, but if I do it will be under a different squad name. We're still practicing for the start of the new AML season and with Vic not playing in any leagues until then I doubt there will be much news to report on this site.
You can read all the round 1 RZJPL stats here. Vic finished 7th. I was the only squad member that actually played and I just grabbed who I could from spec to fill out the freq, but we never had more than three people playing at the same time. We did make a lot of flag kills, but we never had enough people playing to defend flags once we had them. I'm not sure if round 2 is going to be held this Sunday or not due to the 4th July holiday.
