Far be it for me to blow my own trumpet, but have a look at this. I won't have time to get the RZJPL stats up today, I'll do it and write up a report tomorrow.
Victimise were knocked out of the AML Cup on Saturday, losing 12-2 to Warlords. The game was as bad as the score suggests. We were very badly organised. While Warlords were praccing and warming up, we had nobody on. When the game started the only three we had (vorb, Nasty Nate and e x p o) played and Warlords allowed us to use crzyman as an NTS. No surprise then that we had a terrible start. After only four minutes of gametime we were losing 4-0 and after seven minutes we were down a slot. After that we started playing ourselves into the game, but we were so far behind by then that we never looked like pulling it back. You can read all the match stats here, though God knows why you would want to.
The Cup did serve a purpose for us though. When we showed our best we beat an IML-level squad in Gods and it has given us some extra pre-season games which we needed to get out teamwork back. We also had a poor showing in RZJPL yesterday. I'll write more about that when I have the game stats, probably tomorrow.
In other Premier League new Assassins beat Tyranny to take the Pro League title, I think that was title #7 for Mop. Congratulations to them. The Prem season comes to an end next weekend with the IML final which sees Money going up against Dissent.
Just made the draw for round 3 of the AML Cup. The match-ups are:
Victimise vs Warlords
NB and FnD are playing their round 2 game at 9pm EST tonight. Squads have until next Wednesday to get their matches played. For more info check out the AML Cup Forum.
And it was all going so smoothly too. Our AML Cup game didn't happen on Sunday. I wasn't able to make the match, but we did show four, unfortunately Starseed didn't. Reaem (Starseed Pro's cap) however did show and wanted to play a starting four made up of Starseed's pro roster and other pro players. Becks didn't want to play against a pro squad in an AML game and I agree with him. So now I'm biased in favour of my squad and obviously cheating. You can read more about this in the thread Reaem started on the AML forum here. As things stand right now unless we can agree to play the game before I make the round 3 draw tomorrow Vic will get the no-show win.
We didn't show for RZJPL, the game was put back to 10est and we didn't have anyone on at that time. We did play two out of the three pre-season rounds though and will be ready for the start of the regular season this coming Sunday at 7pm EST.
StarseedAM beat ReDS in the AML Cup and will be our round 2 opponents. The match will be played on Sunday at 4pm EST. This Sunday also sees the Pro League semi finals. Assassins take on Betrayal at 5pm EST while defending champions BIA go up against Tyranny at 6pm EST.
I made the draw for Round 2 of the AML Cup last night. Here's the match-ups:
StarFire Elite vs Warlords
BoP vs Dedication
Victimise vs ReDS or StarseedAM
ReDS and ssAM are due to play their game tonight. If they don't play it then it will be a double no-show and they will be replaced by Blasphemy in round 2. Squads have until next Wednesday to play their matches. For more details check out the AML Cup Forum.
Victimise played our first live 4v4 match since AML season 9 yesterday, beating Gods 12-6 in round 1 of the AML cup. It was an excellent performance against an experienced opponent. We started Aixelsyd, Nasty Nate, vorb and Abba Zabba while e x p o and koroshi subbed in. Gods didn't make any subs and started Masta, pump, KrAyZie and BloodyEssence. We were never behind in the game and controlled it from start to finish. Everyone got at least one kill, except Nate who made up for that by forcing an impressive 6 reps which kept God's on the back foot and set up most of our team's kills. Abba was named MVP going 4-1 with 2 assists and 1 forced rep, stealing it from me . Excellent job by everyone who played and by DBeckham who capped the game using TeamSpeak. I've uploaded the stats to the log bank and you can check them out here. We will find out our Round 2 opponents this Wednesday when I (and Dave the hamster) make the draw. Soon as I've done it I'll post it here.
We went on to play RZJPL pre-season round 2 later in the day. I had to leave half way through so can't do much of a match report. DOMINATION won from starseed and Joke with vic finishing in 4th. The full match stats can be found here.
Our AML Cup match against Gods will be held this Sunday at 4pm EST.
Some RZJPL news. The league has switched zones and day/time. This is so that we can get access to the old RZJPL bot which has been updated, rather than wait for Warzone to code one for us. So from this weekend all the games will take place on Sundays at 7pm EST back in SSCX Chaos/League SVS. Also the RZJPL website is back up. You can check it out by clicking here.
Finally, I've made a new template for the squad forums. Not sure if I'm going to keep it or not. I wanted to make it look more like the website, but I'm not 100% sure that I like it. On a desktop res lower than 1280x1024 it looks a little messy. Use the comments link below to give me your feedback.
I made the draw for round 1 of the AML Cup today. Here's how it looks:
ElementalForces vs StarFire Elite
Gods vs Victimise
Forever Silent vs Dedication
NightBane vs Deepblue
The remaining three squads (BoP, Warlords and Win's squad) all receive a bye into round 2. Squads have a week to schedule and play their game. For more info check out the round 1 thread on the AML Forum.
I forgot to mention in my RZJPL round-up that I logged the game and added it to the log bank. You can check it out here. As I played the whole game there's no spec freq chatter.
In other news the AML Cup will start tomorrow when I make the draw for round 1. So far 13 teams have signed up which means 3 squads will get a bye into round 2, although that may change as I will accept squads right up until I draw the names. Once the round match-ups are posted on the AML forum the two squads have 1 week to play their game and I'll post the next round the following Wednesday.
Looks like this could be a fun tourney and I'll post all the news from it here as well as on the AML Forum, which you can find by clicking on the Premier League banner on the links section.
Yesterday's RZJPL pre-season game was won by the reigning champs (and my WZL squad) DOMINATION. There's was no bot so that means no stats and I can't tell you where we finished, although I would of expected us to be somewhere in the top five. Remember, the top five squads at the end of the regular season make the final so that's our target finish in each round.
We had a terrible start and it took us a long time before we held any flags. This wasn't really a surprise as apart from me no-one else had much RZJPL experience, with most of us never playing it before. Also, without a bot and using the wrong settings the game was messy anyway. But after a while we started to play ourselves into the match and were making big kills and at one point we held 12 of the 16 flags. Near the end of the game we were one of three squads that held flags along with Dom and BIA. Our flag carrier (Jeebas) was then killed by BIA's flag carrier (Euripedes) who was then killed by Dom to give them all the flags and the win.
It was a good start to the season for us and with a little more experience we could shock a few of the bigger names. Next Saturday's round will be played at the same time of 3pm EST and will be run on Running Zone settings and map. No news on whether the bot will be ready or not, but the settings problems will be fixed for next week. There's no stats link for you, but here's everyone who played for Vic in the match:
KINGZILLA
vorb
Nightingale
e x p o
eunaosoucachorronao
Jeebas
Megus
Just a quick reminder about RZJPL. Pre-season starts today at 3pm EST and Victimise will be one of the squads playing. With no rosters, sign-ups, no restrictions on lives or subs and with squads allowed to play with between 1 and 6 slots anyone can play or start a squad. So come to ?go rzjpl in Warzone and check it out.
RZJPL now have a confirmed time for games. Each round will be played at 3pm EST every Saturday, with round 1 of pre-season this coming Saturday. All matches will be played in ?go rzjpl at SSCX Warzone/ASWZ CTF. Victimise will be competing. If you're interested in playing or starting a squad it couldn't be simpler. There's no rosters or sign-ups. All you need to do to play is get on a private freq and ensure that everyone is ?squadjoined to the same squad name. Freqs can be as small as one player or as big as six. For more info check out the RZJPL forums.
