With AML finishing a lot earlier than the rest of Premier League I've decided to do something myself to fill the gap until season 11 starts up. I've come up with the AML Cup. You can find out more about it in the thread I started on the AML forum here. Hopefully enough squads will be interested for this to work.

Squad practice has been going well lately and our teamwork is now starting to come together. We will get our first test this coming Saturday with the first pre-season round of RZJPL.

Wednesday 26th May 2004

ReDS took the AML title last Sunday beating DAMN_yankees in the deciding game 11-6. The game was a lot closer than most people expected with neither squad getting more than a one kill advantage until the 40 minute mark when 9-volt got two quick kills on Venice Beach to give ReDS an 8-5 advantage. DY did pull the score back to 9-6 at one point, but by then they were a man down and were chasing the game. ReDS held on to take the title. Here's all the game stats:

Game 3: box score - log

This time the log includes the spec freq chat. I'm working on the final part of the website, the rosters page. I've updated the players list and I've started adding player profiles. It should be finished by the time we start playing AML. As there's over 60 player profiles to get up it will take some time for it to be finished.

Saturday 22nd May 2004

The deciding game of the AML Final will take place tomorrow at 4pm EST in SSCX Chaos/League. In other news RZJPL will start on Saturday 5th June in SSCX Warzone/ASWZ CTF. The reason for the delay was due to bot problems, but things are now good to go.

Tuesday 18th May 2004

The AML Final will be decided next Sunday after ReDS and DAMN_yankees split the first two games last Sunday. DY shocked the spec freq by dominating game 1 and taking a 12-6 win, the first game ReDS have lost this season. Game 2 saw normal service resumed as DY were blown away by ReDS 12-1. I hate to blow my own trumpet but this is exactly how I predicted the finals would go (DY pulling out a clutch game 1 win before ReDS dominate in the next 2 for the series victory). The scheduling for the deciding match has already started and looks like it will be just as nasty as the last one. For all you stat monkeys out there here's all the match facts:

Game 1: box score - log

Game 2: box score - log

The match logs are actually pretty crappy as they're only public chat and no spec freq chat at all. If I knew they were going to do that I would of logged the games myself. If I can make game 3 this Sunday I'll log spec and add it to the log bank.

Saturday 15th May 2004

The AML Finals game was finally scheduled yesterday. It will start at 4pm EST in SSCX Chaos/League SVS. The match is between ReDS and DAMN_yankees and will be the best of three games with at least two having to be played tomorrow. Good luck to both squads.

Tuesday 11th May 2004

Just a reminder that the AML final will take place this Sunday. It's between two veteran squads returning to league play. ReDS will be the favourites as most of their roster have pro experience and were on the ReDS squad that made the IML season 2 finals, losing to Prevail. Fellow Warzone squad DAMN_yankees will be the underdogs but they also have some big name pilots to call on. The final will be the best of three games, although the way the scheduling has been going it looks like the match has started already. I doubt the game time will be confirmed before the deadline on Thursday. If you're interested I've written up some finals predictions which you can find here.

No squad news to report. I expect once AML is over things will start to pick up as we get ready for season 11.

Saturday 1st May 2004

Looks like RZJPL won't be starting today. I haven't heard anything and there's nothing on the forums about it. I've added a second 4v4 playing guide to the about section which you can read by clicking the link to the right.
