Well so much for the great website update. On Friday I bought Windows XP and installed it on my old PC. It totally fucked the machine up and I had to reformat and re-install Windows ME. So I've lost all my old logs, stats and screenshots. I don't really have much left to add now. I'll finish the results/stats section next week and I'll try to find as many logs from ScoreMaster and MasterRater as I can. I also lost all my old Vorbometer predictions which I was going to upload too.
No real squad news and it's probably going to be quiet for a month or two now. 2v2 looks dead. This is really down to the staff. There's been so many changes in format and scheduling this season that the squads have lost track with what's going on. Gladiator League looks dead too. There's been no news on when the new season will start for weeks now and I'm starting to think there won't be. So until next season of AML gets underway there's not much squad news to report. There's five weeks of the regular season to go then the playoffs starts. That's when Vic will start to really get ready for season 11. In the meantime I'll finally finish the website.
Finally got back on cable yesterday. Like last time things have been pretty quiet while I've been offline. Still no news on a starting date for Gladiator League season 5 starting up. I have no clue where things stand with 2v2 right now. I guess I'll have a better idea tomorrow, but I wouldn't put any money on it. Now I have my old PC out of storage I'm going to start to upload all the Vic stuff I have and finally finish the website. Also, now I'm settled in my new place I'm going to get some proper hosting for victimise.net rather than using geocities.
We did have a 2v2 match yesterday, but it turned out to be the messiest I've been involved with. The staff went ahead with their plan of having no schedule and picking the match-ups out of the teams who showed. Of the teams that did show we were the weakest on paper. But I'm sure it was just a coincidence that the league sysop (SimonSays) matched us up with Speechless (team captain: SimonSays).
In the end the game was a mess. There must of been a problem with server as everybody was lagged. There was spikes, dropped bombs, lag attaches, teamkills and just messy play from everyone. We started Kyre and spiked in game 1 and Kyre and a pez dispensor in game 2 while Speechless started SimonSays and blur for both games. We ended up losing 6-0, but we could've just as easily won 6-0. This game had nothing to do with teamwork or skill, the server lag made it pretty much random who won or lost. For what it's worth you can check out the match stats by clicking here.
I'm not sure if the staff are going to go with the same system for picking match-ups. Personally I thought it was a mess and wouldn't like to see it used again. Whoever we play in round 6 the match will be played next Saturday at 3pm EST.
