At the moment we don't have any squad forums. The Alpha forums and website are in the process of moving from theplague.net to sscxalpha.com. When this has been done, it shouldn't take too long, I'll update the links. We may lose a few posts but apart from that nothing will change.
With Glad League regular season over I've updated the division standings and scores. Click on results/stats above then choose Gladiator League from the list
In the next couple of days the Alpha web site and forums (including our squad forums) will no longer be hosted on theplague.net. At the moment they're looking for alternative hosting. If they can find it then all I'll have to do is update the links. If they can't get any hosting straight away we may have to find some new forums. Our best bet would probably to get some boards hosted on the Subspace Forum Network. More news as I get it.
We don't have a Gladiator League game this weekend. There will be a make-up round this Sunday then the following week the seedings round start. I'm pretty sure that we will play ROCK MUSIC in the first round, I'll post here when I have confirmation.
We lost our third Gladiator League match of the season yesterday in three games. The match was very similar to the Round 5 game. We won the first game easily and we had chances in the next two games to win the match, but we just couldn't put it away. Crucial fire had some luck. In game 2 Demongo and I were 2v1 up and could've won the game (and the match) easily, but I took a bad bounce off a gate and died out and at 1v1 all Crucial Fire had to do was run out the clock to even the match at one game each which is exactly what they did. In the end we went down 6-3, 4-5, 2-6. There was some positives to take from the game though. Out teamwork is improving. The practice drills that DBecks has been running are starting to pay off and we will be a force by the time AML season 10 rolls around. That is the end of the Gladiator League Regular season. There will be a seedings round of games before the playoffs start. Expect news about that and who we will play later in the week.
We lost our Glad match yesterday in three games, but it was a much better performance and we really should of won. FuN! had a lot of lag problems and they needed 2 NTS's, which I allowed (and which cost us the game in the end). FuN! had two non-lagged players for game 1 (Winston and ZDeathX) and Vega22 was an NTS. Demongo, Savman and I played all the games for DZ. Inside the first minute Winston lagged out and couldn't return. With us up 3v2 it was an easy win. Winston still couldn't play for game 2 so I allowed Hellsbane as a second NTS. This was a huge mistake. Hells just tanked through us going 5-0 inside two minutes and tying the match up. We were ready for Hells in the deciding game and his lag wasn't a factor. Unfortunately I choked and left Demongo and Savman 2v3 only three minutes in. Despite this we almost pulled it off, but the man advantage was too much to over come and FuN! took the game and the match. You can read all the game stats by clicking here. I've also added a screenshot, you can use a the nav bar above to see it.
This was a much better performance than last week. We played toe to toe with a Pro League team and we should of won. Next week's game is against Crucial Fire and I'm confident we can get our first win here.
Our Gladiator League game against FuN! will be at 5pm EST This Sunday.
The squad forums are up. Thanks to Suppoko for hosting them on the Alpha West boards. If you click the link above it will take you to our public forum. For squad members there's info their on getting access to our private forum. This is the last of the features to go up, so I can now update all the links. Please let me know if you find any dead links as you travel round the site, there's an e-mail link at the bottom of most pages.
We lost our first Gladiator League match in two games to Lampaat. This game was dominated by lag, mostly theirs but we had some problems too. The first game started slowly with Lampaat taking a 2-1 lead after the first five minutes, but due to some leet Finnish tanking we just couldn't make the kills and after we went a man down they finished us off 6-1. We had our own lag problems in the break between the two games with DBeckham almost unable to play while I got disconnected for a couple of minutes. When the match finally started I think we all realised that with their tanking along with our problems staying in meant our only real chance of getting a win was to attack from the start and try to get it over quickly. Unfortunately it didn't work. Lampaat sucked it up and won 6-0 in just three minutes. To face the reigning champions in our first ever game was a tough ask. You can read all the stats by going here. Next week we're playing FuN!, who are the reigning Dueling League champions and currently lie second in Pro, so it doesn't get any easier. I'll post here as soon as I have a time confirmed.
I've added all the current Gladiator League Season 4 info to the results/stats section. At the moment you can only link to it from the nav bar here on the home page. I'm not going to update the rest of the links until the squad forums are up so I don't have to do the update twice. We should have them up by the weekend. I've included all of the results from the HATE SQUAD games, but not the player stats. I'm only going to counts those from now as the roster has changed.
The Yahoo Groups hosted squad-only section is now finished. As well as holding an archive of the squad's mailing list you can also download banners, graphic mods and check out player stats game by game. If you're a squad member and are not getting access e-mail me and I'll sort it.
